3H Wins GSA Public Building Service eCommon Contract
Reston, Va. —December 17, 2007 3H Technology, LLC, a wholly owned business of QinetiQ North America, has been awarded a new contract by the General Services Administration (GSA) to provide the GSA Public Buildings Service (PBS) with design, implementation, maintenance, development, and underlying support for the eCommon Framework. With options, the contract has a total value of over $15 Million.
eCommon introduces a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) to the Public Buildings Service. SOA packages business processes as services, which greatly increases their interoperability across different information systems and makes them easier for customers to use. SOA represents the natural next step in enterprise architecture, and will help the Public Buildings Service increase the agility of its business operations.
3H will design and deliver the SOA infrastructure stack, a vendor/product selection effort, and a repository of reusable software services and components. The initiative will help PBS align its information technology with its business processes. Above all, PBS expects eCommon to significantly improve customer service.
